About the Event
**The Showcase scheduled for May 1 is postponed.**
Sign ups are still available. Anyone that signs up to participate will be refunded if the new date and time do not work for your schedule or comfor level.
NOTE: There is a potential to limit the number of guests attending and provide streaming for those interested or concerned about large crowds. We just dont know enough yet to make a call.
THEME: Second Chance Prom. We will encourage the members and guests to wear vintage prom/bridesmaid/wedding dress/tux. Consider using an old dress to "reveal" your pole costume. Best Costume will be crowned King & Queen of the prom. Cheesy photo booth opportunities....so much we can do with this...Your piece does not necessarily have to coordinate with the theme. It is just fun to give the event a theme...
REMEMBER: This will be an 18+ show, however excessive raunchy moves are discouraged.
COSTUME: Please make sure all intimate parts are covered. Body parts must stay in assigned seats for the duration of the performance. Bikinis and swimsuits are permitted but please make sure all bits are appropriately covered and stay covered. Anything prom related in ANY WAY is highly encouraged, but not required.
MUSIC: Max length of song will be 3 minutes and 30 seconds. If this is your first time I would recommend keeping it around 3 minutes. Some profanity is allowed however keep it minimal. All song choices need to be submitted by March 31, 2020 and all cut music needs to be submitted by April 15th, 2020 Songs will not be allowed to be repeated.
AGREEMENT OF PARTIES: Submission to perform requires an agreement to pre-pay $25. This ensures that you know we are serious about no one backing out or "flaking".
VOLUNTEERING: We will be needing 12 volunteers. Volunteering does not require a payment confirmation, however we do ask if something comes up before the show you notify us.
PERFORMERS: We are are taking applications & will ask up to 12 performers, 4 will be alternates, and 2 instructors
PERFORMER MEETING: We will have a virtual performer meeting on April 1, 2020 to answer any questions.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS: We will have a reserved place upfront for someone to sit and take photos and videos of your performance. No professional photography or videos will be provided.
**Performers must ensure that their "final product" is prepared and ready on or before April 15th, at which time an instructor must have reviewed the majority of the piece to ensure it fits the style and format of the studio, and that it is performance ready. Performers may be asked to submit videos of what they have at regular intervals. Please have the majority of your piece put together by this date. Then you can just practice, practice, practice.
We do NOT expect perfection. This is a student and instructor showcase, so just work hard and take the performance opportunity seriously. Remember that the fun of performing is that EVERYONE WINS!!! That is all we ask. If you choose to volunteer and support your fellow performers, you have my undying gratitude!!! Thank you everyone!!
